"Kayaker on Potomac, Autumn, Near Old Angler's Inn" 22"x30" Arches 300HP This is a studio painting, but based on studies on site near the C&O Canal in a Maryland suburb of DC. The spot is a favorite place for kayakers, since there is white water around the bend. Barry D. Lindley |
"River Edge, Winter - II" 11"x15" Fabriano Artistico XW 300HP This was painted on location in January, near a boathouse on the Potomac in downtown Washington, DC (Georgetown). Both paintings show accessible nature in the metropolis and contrast the rich color and texture of autumn with the subtleties of winter. The same river, a few miles apart, but very different feeling.
