and Barry Lindley; "This is a comprehensive anthology of the finest watercolor instruction from some of the best-known authors such as David Millard, Jeanne Dobie, Stephen Quiller, Charles Reid..actually more than fifteen well-known watercolorists. The book is a treasure trove of information about tools and materials of watercolor: color mixing, color theory, watercolor painting techniques, value, form, light and shadow, design and composition, perspective, landscape paint, figure painting, etc. It's quite a good book for novice as well as experienced painters in watercolor." Eileen Escuetta "Everything You Always Wanted to Know about Watercolor is a good compendium." Barry Lindley |

| Recommended by member Dorothy Holmes, I just finished this book and highly recommend it. There is no way any artist or creative thinker can lose on this book. I suggest it be read as a New Year resolution and then again in the middle of the year. One of our list members advised us of this book and, whoever that was, thank you. |

| Recommended by member Robert Millard This was first published as "Masterclass in Watercolor," and regardless of the title is an enormously informative book. The contents include sources for pictorial images, watermedia, designing with collage, painting from nature toward abstraction (and vice-versa), and much more Betts' paintings and processes are rare treats! |

Recommended by members Ilene Young and Robert Leedy Laid out in a class format. Easy to follow. Well-organized and touches on all areas of watercolor. "Watercolor Class" is for the serious beginning artist working in watercolor. Crespos' palette is very different, much more powerful. |

Lindley I recommend Jean Dobie's book, "Making Color Sing" as a good book for beginners to use to learn how to use color to best effect in watercolors. Dobie's book is a great book to get you liberated on color mixing |
